Membership Notes

by Luanne Jaruzel, MLPA Membership Chair

We would like to welcome our newest member, Cissy Anderson of Pinckney, to the Michigan Loon Preservation Association. She signed up at the MLPA Mercantile and Information booth at Cranefest. She will enjoy all the benefits of membership through 2009. She will receive our MLPA decal for her vehicle, our newsletter several times a year and the opportunity to have loon items readily available from the Loon Mercantile for purchase as gifts to other loon lovers. The best benefit of membership with MLPA comes from knowing that all of the money stays right here in Michigan. It is used to educate people about loons’ needs, to put out Artificial Nest Islands where needed, and to support our Loon Rangers as they collect information on Michigan Loons, and do so much more to protect these treasured birds.

All who renew now will have their membership last through Dec. 2010. We hope all of our members take advantage of this "extra two months" membership by renewing now. This will save the cost of sending out reminder notices after the first of the year. There is a renewal form in this newsletter for your convenience.

Become a part of the Michigan Loon Preservation Association to help ensure that the call of the Common Loon, the voice of the north, will continue to be heard.
